Can the Pope be an organ donor?
No, a Pope cannot be an organ donor. Vatican officials state that after a Pope's death, the body belongs to the universal Catholic Church and must be buried intact. This is partly due to the tradition of respecting the body as a whole and because if organs were donated, they could potentially become relics if the Pope were later canonized.
