NUB FACT So some of you may wonder how i manage to get such awesome shoots for you all the time. The truth is that…. SO FAR IT’S ALL BEEN ME! Between professional training on makeup & posing & my short stint in photography school, I managed to pick up a few things. So every shot you have seen so far was taken by me. I plan every set, every costume, do all of the hair and makeup, shoot, & edit! Soon I’ll be adding some collabs with local photographers, but for now it’s all nub powered!

Nub Fact # 14: The Catalyst Seven years ago i had got out of a night in holding a few weeks prior. I’d had a loud argument with my ex that landed us both incarcerated for the evening. No charges were filed. That night though, I had to sit with the rage that I’d felt in that moment. I had to see that i was capable of that emotion, and that i was losing the little bit of control i has managed to hold together at the time. It made me want to hate myself. Instead, i used that knowledge and self awareness as the final straw. I held onto the energy of that moment and channeled into drive to escape my self built hell. Seven years ago today, we went to court and refused to press charges, as it was nothing more than neighbors assuming the worst due to volume. Afterward, we packed what we could fit into my civic and i left the east coast, finding sobriety by the time i made it west.

Before i lost my arm, i wanted to be a runway model. I literally dragged my grandma to talent searches and trained in Denver for a year. That’s where i learned posting, angles, creating themes, everything i now use to create my photography. When I lost my arm, i was shattered because that’s not what the industry has been molded for. I didn’t talk about it, i just adapted and put on a smile. I took up photography so that i could be my own model and so that i could still enjoy the fun of building a photo shoot. I know this Maxim thing might seem random, rigged, pointless, silly, or just plain dumb to you. I know that you might think that i have no chance really, cause that’s how i feel every day. But you have kept me at the top, and you can get and keep me there. I’m doing this because no girl should have to change their whole dream because their life changed in a second and they don’t fit the standard mold, or because they were born a little different. Everyone has a nub (innie or outtie) and it’s exactly what makes us beautiful. Please help me. Share my post, because the more people that see this and vote the better.
